We Are Empowering Women And Transforming Communities
Who We Are
TMI Africa is a non-profit social enterprise founded in 2020 to improve sexual and reproductive health outcomes for women and young people across Africa.
We combine technology, advocacy, and community-driven interventions to make quality reproductive and maternal healthcare accessible, affordable, and stigma-free especially for underserved communities.
Since our founding, we have empowered over 5,000 women and young people through education, mobile health innovations, and outreach programs that promote informed choices, safe practices, and gender equity in health.
Our Mission
At TMI Africa, our mission is simple yet profound: to ensure that every woman and girl has access to the healthcare she deserves. Through community-centered innovation, digital health solutions, and human-centered care, we are breaking down the barriers that prevent women from accessing quality reproductive and maternal healthcare.
Our Vision
Our vision is a world where women no longer face the threat of death or harm due to inequities in accessing healthcare. We envision a future where all women, regardless of their location or socio-economic status, have the ability to make informed choices about their sexual and reproductive health.
TMI Africa operates based on four guiding principles that inform everything we do:
Innovation
We embrace cutting-edge technology and creative solutions to overcome healthcare barriers and ensure that women have access to the resources they need.
Equity
We are committed to creating a world where every woman has an equal opportunity to access quality healthcare, regardless of background or circumstances.
Collaboration
We work hand-in-hand with communities, partners, and organizations to create lasting, impactful change. Collaboration is key to addressing the complex challenges of maternal and reproductive healthcare.
Justice
We believe in fairness and social justice. Our work is rooted in the belief that every woman deserves to be treated with respect, dignity, and equality, and that access to healthcare is a fundamental human right.
Founded with Purpose and Passion
After witnessing the devastating effects of maternal and reproductive health inequities in Sub-Saharan Africa, our founder Pharm. (Dr.) Chioma Uzuoma, a passionate advocate for women’s health and rights, set out to create a platform that could deliver life-saving healthcare solutions to women who need it most.
Starting with a small team and a clear mission in 2020, TMI Africa has grown into a strong force for change, impacting the lives of over 5,000 women and girls through education, digital health solutions, and on-the-ground outreach initiatives.
Technology Meets Community Care
At TMI Africa, we believe that solving the healthcare challenges women face requires both high-tech solutions and community-driven efforts. That’s why our approach integrates technology—like our Med-tracker mobile app—with grassroots outreach and education.
By focusing on the intersection of innovation, community support, and access to quality healthcare, we’re tackling the barriers that prevent women from receiving care and building a future where all women have access to the healthcare they need, when they need it.
